Anuz Thapa

Anuz Thapa is currently working as a Video Producer at TheStreet.

He is a multimedia journalist based in New York City. He specializes in multimedia storytelling. He has a good knowledge of video production that includes Virtual Reality- 360 videos. His stories always include photos, videos, and text, which makes him a complete package for new age media.

He has worked for BBC Media Action, NY DAILY News, Metropolis Magazine, Voices of NY, SupChina, The Real Deal, News 24 television and Maitri F.M.

He completed his Master's degree in International Reporting from CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in 2017, and Master's degree in development communication from Tribhuwan University in Nepal in 2013.

Achievements:

  1. He was a part of a video team that won the 2017 Television In-Depth Reporting category in the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Awards for Region 1, which covers most of the Northeast. Besides shooting and editing, he was also involved in script-writing and producing short video stories for “Immigration Today: New York City Stories.”

  2. His documentary, Fighting for Justice, was selected at the 2018 Queens World Film Festival. The documentary focuses on anti-Muslim hate crime, and how the criminal justice system is reluctant to charge people with a “hate crime.”
